We've been having a great Spring Break, but more about that later. Yesterday we visited the Pre-K Orson will most likely be attending next year. I had fun talking about bentos with my mother-in-law recently. She's known about them for a long time and has a ton bookmarked. She even has a few supplies and books, but hasn't made anything with them yet. When I checked out her book collection I was surprised to see one I had bookmarked myself! We've been snowed in the last few days and decided to celebrate Valentine's Day a day early since we figured my husband would be back to work teaching tomorrow. Of course they decided to cancel tomorrow too, even though we're not expecting any more of the white stuff ~ oh well ( Read more... )

Bento #1: Simple Snowmen

We had some snowman and snowflake shaped chicken nuggets (instead of our normal dinosaurs), and I figured that I should make a bento with them before we ate them all!

When I first got my bento supplies, I stuck some hat picks in my 3-year-old's dino shaped nuggets. He was pretty grumpy, but they were so cute and easy I had to try again!

A week or so later I got more adventurous. Orson loves spelling & reading his name, so I used my alphabet cutters to spell out his name with some cheese too.
